Queensland schools are committed to creating safe and supportive learning environments, free from bullying, harassment and violence.
By the school community working together, we are sending a clear message to young people that bullying and violence, in or outside of school, are not okay at any time.
For the 2017 National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence, the Department of Education and Training will facilitate a series of four online workshops delivered by certified online safety provider, Alannah and Madeline Foundation. These workshops will be delivered for primary and secondary student audiences as well as informative sessions for teachers and parents. Being delivered on Tuesday 14 March and Thursday 16 March 2017, these sessions provide Queensland State Schools with an excellent opportunity to focus on online safety and positive online behaviours in the lead up to the National Day of Action.
These workshops are free of charge and open to all Queensland schools.
State schools parents should register through their schools.
Please keep an eye on the OneChannel program calendar (DET employees only) to register for these online workshops sessions.
The online safety webinars, each tailored for an individual cohort, will be delivered through OneChannel. Schools are welcome to register for some or all of these sessions.
