The Department of Education wants students to enjoy school and feel that they can learn in a safe and supportive environment. Bullying, harassment, discrimination and violence are actions and behaviours that are not acceptable in schools.

In response to recommendations from the Queensland Anti-Cyberbullying Taskforce report, the Stand out from the crowd action plan (PDF, 149KB) has been developed to outline departmental actions to prevent and address bullying and cyberbullying in Queensland schools. The Bullying and school aged students (PDF, 104KB) and the Cyberbullying and school aged students (PDF, 154KB) fact sheets have also been developed to clearly outline the responsibilities of principals and school staff in responding to bullying and cyberbullying.

State schools have a Responsible behaviour plan for students (Student Code of Conduct) that describes how they create positive environments and deal with bullying behaviours.
